Bio-Identical Hormones (BHRT)

Bio-Identical Hormones (BHRT) Glen Allen At Rejuvenate MD, we can help to restore your hormone levels and increase your quality of life with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT).* BHRT uses natural—not synthetic—hormones that have the same exact molecular structure as the hormones produced within your body. As a result, bio-identical hormones are metabolized in the same way as your natural hormones.

When dosed properly and carefully administered under the expert supervision of Rejuvenate MD’s medical director, Dr. Lonny Green, BHRT can relieve a number of unpleasant symptoms, promoting wellness and a higher quality of life.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Process

After your initial consultation, we perform an in-depth evaluation. This includes an analysis of your health history and bloodwork results. With careful consideration of your needs and goals, we will devise a personalized BHRT plan for you.

Once your BHRT plan is in effect for a period of time, we will bring you back for a follow-up and repeated testing to assess your progress. Additionally, these scheduled check-ins ensure your safety and allow for the fine-tuning of your treatment based upon changes in diet, work, sleep, health, and stress. It is typical for patients to receive pellets every three to four months.

How is BHRT administered?

We administer BHRT by placing pellets in your upper hip/butt area. We also offer creams and oral hormone tablets.

Does bio-identical hormone replacement therapy hurt?

On the contrary. BHRT is administered under the skin with tiny pellets. It is a simple procedure to administer BHRT, and we take every precaution to ensure your comfort. We use lidocaine to numb the area prior to insertion to alleviate any pain.

Are there any side effects?

BHRT is a well-tolerated treatment when carefully administered and supervised by an expert physician. Our medical director Dr. Lonny Green and his highly trained staff will carefully monitor your progress and adjust your treatment as needed to address any side effects that may occur. Reported side effects for some women include acne, facial hair growth, breast tenderness, fatigue, mood swings, nausea, bloating, possible uterine bleeding and weight gain. To minimize side effects and track your progress, we will monitor your health closely with follow-up visits and testing.
